Network operations center (NOC) is the most common type of control room environments. Its main purpose is to provide an environment where technicians are busy managing different aspects of the network or other systems, supervising network operations of an organization and handling incoming issues.
Typical NOC consists of one videowall, one or more additional screens and a number of operator desks, located in a way that allows to see content displayed on the videowalls in the room.
The main videowall is displaying systems overview, related alarms, incidents and jobs. A corner of the videowall or side screens are usually used to provide general information – news and weather channels, corporate TV and announcements.
NOC technicians occupying certain desk usually have several displays used to cover network segments/jobs available for this desk.
